Fall COB is usually invite only and most likely over for most (if not all) of the chapters. Spring COB will be decided a few weeks after the spring semester starts. Usually about half the houses do it, and about half of those houses will do open COB and others will do invite only COB.

As the above poster said COB is for sure done with for the Fall. Spring is a mixed bag, with such large pledge classes in the Fall it is likely that we will not see a lot of houses doing COB in the Fall, even those that would traditionally do so.

You won't really know cause it's by word of mouth.

Its actually worse than word of mouth only, its the friends of friends of friends scenario and is cloaked in secrecy and exclusivity. Frankly its a disgrace and should be eliminated. The fact that Panhel is in hibernation for most of the year is probably the reason that this disgraceful practice is continuing and actively supported. I believe Panhel should support openness and improve disclosure vs. secrecy and a complete lack of transparency. Secrecy hurts us all and frankly I don't know why the houses that don't do super secret COB don't step up actively at panhel to condemn those houses that do use this disgraceful practice. GPhi did a brilliant job post fall recruitment this year and frankly they set the bar quite high in terms of how things should be done. Props to GPhi! Don't know why the ladies of Kappa, DG, APhi and Chi O don't take note and open things up rather than hiding behind the old friends of friends argument. What are you afraid of ladies? There truly aren't many secrets, so not sure why you continue to hide behind super secret COB.

I agree but they deny that it happens. So don't know what is fact abd what is fiction!
