This whole ranking thing is stupid really, especially when it comes to niceness. I'm in a so called "bottom-tier" sorority (that I absolutely love!!) and I was told all these nasty things about kappa and I thought I' hated them. But honestly every person I've met from that house -mostly in classes and stuff - has been pretty nice to me, and I wouldn't have guessed them to be kappas until it was revealed in some way like wearing a shirt or something because I had such a terrible perception of them . (I was dropped by them on the second day during rush and they were very nice then too.) I do think they're shat on a lot just because they're so called "top" and are forced to make such big cuts early on because in terms of personal experiences they've been much better than some other "lower" and "higher" ranked houses' girls.

As a member of a lower ranked house I've actually gotten pretty bad treatment from middle houses who think they are so much better, rather than kappa/dg/pi phi who've generally been neutral/nice and I had assumed were terrible from posts like this.

Another "lower tier" sorority member here, it has never stopped me from getting into parties, but the girls in upper mid houses can be downright nasty about what house you're in. I would agree that not all, but for sure there have been a few times where we've been having a nice conversation and they ask what house I'm in... suddenly it's like I have the plague. Luckily those aren't the type of people I would want to be friends with anyway. It's like mean people self select out of hanging out with me, and I kind of love it.
