Super sweet and genuine girls. They may be bottom tier but they know how to have fun. Some of the most accepting and real people I've met at Cal

Honestly an amazing group of women that I've gotten the chance to meet last year. Everyone is so genuine and down to earth. Just by looking at this site, you can tell that they don't self rank as much as other sororities on Greek Rank. Says a lot about how they are comfortable being themselves and don't need to announce to the world how "hot" or how much they "party."

This is considered Cal's bottom house, but if we break down the reasons why, it does not reflect badly on GPB but the cattiness of the Greek system at Cal as a whole. "Top" houses are based on how many attractive girls a sorority can attract. This means--a lot of skinny, rich white girls. If you are trying to refute this, you are living in a fantasy and don't want to admit you are part of a problem. As someone in an "upper mid" house, I have no problem admitting this is a real and insidious issue. I would not see this ranking system as so much of an issue if the girls in sororities would respect the fact that girls in other sororities--either top or bottom--just want to have a good time. So, maybe GPB does not attract the same type of girls as a trip house would, but that doesn't mean that Gamma Phi girls don't deserve our respect. They are no less of a sorority than the next house. I think the reason why other girls in Greek tend to put them down is because GPB girls always seem like they're having a good time and have a pretty strong sisterhood, at least from what I've seen at game days and philo events. If we admit that this is the case, then the entire ranking system starts to fall apart. Top and mid houses lose legitimacy if bottom houses are seen thriving and enjoying themselves. In other words, what is the benefit of being in a "top house" if girls in a "bottom house" are having just as much fun? In an ideal world, I'd like to see a Greek system where rankings don't exist. We can accept the fact that different sororities attract different types of people and not put other houses down in the process.
