Are sororities good about accepting transfer members?

by:

I’m a member of a sorority at a different school. My chapter seems to be considered pretty good here. At my school it is not as good if I’m being honest. I am transferring bc I changed majors and my old school doesn’t have my new major so not for sorority reasons but I liked being in a sorority and want to be in one here. I know that even though I have the same letters that there is some type of process where they have to decide to accept me. I’m not like an Instagram model so am intimidated. Do you think most sororities here would still let me affiliate with the chapter here even if I’m not as stereotypical sorority girl looking?

I can’t speak for every sorority, but in my chapter you aren’t instantly accepted if you’re a transfer. We’ve had girls try to come in from schools where their chapter is a dif vibe then at UM and they have been denied from joining our chapter. Rush is competitive at Miami so I can’t guarantee it will b easy

The best thing for you to do is contact your national office and ask them about the transfer policy and get the paperwork started. That way you could be a full fledged member at sometime this semester.

the best thing to do is contact your nationals and have membership transferred that way the chapter cant deny you. if you do not feel as though you vibe AFTER you transfer then you can always drop
