Do you have to be rich?

I’m gonna be honest, there are certain sororities that probably care. I dropped SDT day one, and they probably dropped me too, cuz I know I can’t afford to live that life. Didn’t want friends who I couldn’t afford to shop and go out to brunch with. And there’s nothing wrong with that but I’d say SDT and deeph care the most, maybe ADPI and zeta a little and chio and tri delt not at all

umiami in general can be slightly more materialistic than other schools. Of course there will be girls that have more money than others- or girls that will make it seem as if they have more money than others. There are girls like that in the entire school, Greek life or not. if you do rush, get a feel of how people truly are and go with your gut. pledge classes can also be very different

Most of the girls in Deeph and SDT come from wealthy families. Not to discourage you but think hard if you want to be left out of certain activities because you can't afford it.

I had good convos with one of the houses above but chose to go elsewhere because I have to work to afford my dues and other bills and felt like I wouldn't fit in.

I’m gonna be honest, no but yes. Definitely not all of them but the people above are right. Being in SDT or Deeph, maybe even zeta even if you can get a bid without being rich, is EXPENSIVE. Their recruitment videos alone costs thousands. They always look the “best” because their girls can but the most merch, and in some I’ve heard rumors it’s required. Big little is always expensive for bigs, but I’ve seen single baskets worth hundreds of dollars, if you don’t have money to throw away, you probably wouldn’t enjoy being in those places. I know people in adpi, chio, tri delt that aren’t rich and pay their own dues, but generally here there can be a game to keep up in some places
