If ur rushing right now first of all I hope ur taking care of yourself, it’s stressful and can bring up a lot of emotions! Whatever happens, try to keep in mind that you go to school where almost 1000 girls are rushing and theres only 7 sororities and 11,000 undergrads. Not to mention people who choose to go to Miami tend to be really hot, really rich, really influencer-y, and are already what would be considered “top” if they were rushing at a much bigger non private school.
Don’t let strangers opinions of u from talking to u for 2 minutes make you feel bad. I know it’s easy to let it get to you, but it truly is not personal. It’s a process that Is meant to be exclusive by design and sororities are businesses. If you don’t end up where you originally wanted or you end up dropping rush before bid day, it is OKAY! You are more than your social media presence and your ability to small talk! the most important thing is that you know your worth.

This is so true, but it's not. Girls in Miami are not all one type. BUT, I transferred from an SEC school and the sorority stuff is why I transferred. I got to Miami and I was like this is so different, all of the sororities here would be top/top mid at my old school. The sororities here aren't like I won't associate with you because you are in a different sorority or anything like that. They are all good.

Idk why this is getting downvoted, I transferred from the sec as well and it’s so true. Everyone thinks southern sororities are amazing but in reality the majority are full of perfectly average people, most people at those schools wouldn’t get in to UM. I’ve found the majority of Greek life to be much better and accepting of different people here with a big but. If you go in looking for friendships and focus on conversations in rush and choose where you feel the most comfortable, you’ll be fine. Not every chapter here is superficial, but if you go through rush caring about the wrong things you may find yourself somewhere you aren’t really happy
