thoughts on pi phi?

They have the potential to be at least as good as Zeta or ADPi in a few years. For now, I'd probably rush there if your only options are Tri Delt or Chi O. Even then, Tri Delt is marginally better than PI Phi for sure.

Put it this way: I wouldn’t say being a GDI is better, so I wouldn’t drop rush if that’s your only option but I wouldn’t choose them over anyone either

The top post was so clearly written by a pi phi lmao, they’re not on par with tri delt or even chi o let alone going to be “at least as good as zeta” in a few years. I have friends who have joined colonies at other schools, and everyone thinks it’s gonna be like a movie and they’re going to be top tier over night. The reality they can post the same few girls on their insta to look like zeta, and require people to go to mixers to try to help their image with frats but they actually have to build an organization and that takes a long time. Panhell won’t let them cut people during formal because they’re going in small, so whatever selectivity their nationals tried to have is out the window. That’s not a jab at them it’s just literally how it works when you’re new, especially sororities because of how much control panhel and their nationals will have versus the actual girls in the chapter. Bottom line is they’re doing fine, they have some sweet girls, and if you really like them during recruitment go for it cuz at the end of the day it’s just about being around people you like. But don’t get suckered into joining because of messaging like they’re rising fast and “oh I’d choose them over tri delt” already because that’s not how it is

From my interactions with them they seem to be a mixed bag. Have some really high quality girls while also having some lower quality ones. Definitely above Chi o though, no fraternities mix with Chi o.

Knew a couple freshmen year, and see some of them at parties. some nice girls but like people said a mixed bag, the girls I knew who ended up joining were the same ones who talked about Greek life was “buying friends” or they “just don’t get along with other girls” types until they got recruited by the people who’s job it is to recruit. Since then tho some of the others have been really cool but I get a disorganized vibe from them, like it’s a bunch of different friend groups that just happen to wear the same letters. From seeing new frats come on campus, it seems like it will be a few years before we can really judge them. Like everyone says I don’t think they’re above anyone yet overall but if they match your vibe and you’re looking to build something they could be a good choice. Definitely premature to be saying they’re gonna be on par with zeta or better but that definitely seems to be what the girls are pushing
