what frats to rush
by: spring20since freshman wait til spring, how hard is it to get bids from some of the frats even if you get along with people you meet at rush events

5 stars - top 3 will fight over bidding them, will get invited out every night of rush
4 stars - could get a bid from top 3 but have to work for it and meet a lot of brothers
3 stars - will get bids from maybe one top and upper mid tiers like sig chi, beta
2 stars - have to bring something to table, mid to lower tiers are ur spot
1 stars - geeds, if the know someone will get a bid or will go pike
At the end of the day. You can get a bid to any fraternity if you fit in. Each one has a different vibe and there looking for kids who they think will fit in. If you make a good impression you’ll be good. Rush is a fun time for cool kids and is stressful if you’re not

For the sigs they already know half the freshmen they want, it's usually their boys from back home in NJ/NY/CT. Still a few open spots but it's tough
For mid tier frats just be outgoing and able to hold a solid conversation. It's still pretty competitive, but if you find 1-2 houses where you fit in/like the guys, you should be good. Getting invites to pregames/pool parties is a great sign.
As for the others, they can be like a "safety" if the other houses in mind don't work out. If you like the brothers there the most though, go for it and don't worry about the "ranks". Brotherhood > everything else.
Best of luck homie

It's tough if you are not from FL or the Northeast (or crazy rich). The top three are rushing guys they already know. Mid tier frats are more diverse and nicer guys from all over the country. If you don't get a bid at a Sigma, seriously consider a mid-tier if you like the guys. You can start going to parties and won't have to pledge during football season (i.e., clean up after tailgates).
