butterfly effect?

DG is closed. They are not suspended, they are closed. Period.
They may come back after national decides and in coordination UMiami. They may not. So freshman girls that got the "Butterfly" bid are really shorting themselves if they want a true sorority experience. Based on typical sororitys that have been closed at other schools, they probably won't reopen at Miami until the current freshman class are seniors or possible the very earliest when the current sophomore girls who were never initiated are seniors. Even if DG came back, the current sophomore girls that got a bid but were never initiated would have to re-rush and get a bid to be in DG again. It is not automatic. There are rules that you need to initiate within a certain period around 6 weeks after getting a bid. A bid does not last three years. IMO, if you are interested in a sorority life, go for the real thing. If you are interested in the status of hanging out with "Butterfly" girls then do that.

The process of reopening is called Recolonization.
Charters can be re-established on a campus at the national chapter's discretion and with university permission. Sororities typically wait until all members at the time of revocation have graduated or left the university. The sorority can then begin rebuilding its chapter, or “recolonizing” under alumnae supervision.
