no new sorority this year

by: Panhell

Panhell voted it down last week. Personally I think it's a bit mean that girls already in sororities voted against bringing another house to campus that could've benefited the PNMs that they are going to cut in a few months and that the girls who may have joined the new sorority had zero say in this.

Anyone else also think this or is it all completely okay because we're keeping girls out that don't "deserve" to be in our make-believe clubs.

Its way too soon to bring another sorority to campus. Two literally just were removed last year, one of them because they couldn’t get enough people. It probably seems like a weid decision not to bring abother to campus but every single sorority voted no, which should tell you something! They expected the new chapter to colonize in a time frame of 2 weeks, and that probess usually takes a couple years to plan. It would have had no chance

Well if that’s actually the case it’s on you, your house, and all of us to have larger than average PCs this spring. Failing to do so would be a reckless and shortsighted choice.

If a new sorority was brought to campus they wouldn’t even be able to recruit during formal rush this spring. They’d have to wait until after and their nationals would come down and recruit girls through COB. It wouldn’t have effected the numbers of this coming spring rush

At least people who were cut or dropped could try the new house out. Now they have to wait until next recruitment.
