tell me about sorority rush at the u

Starting as a freshman in January. Can I do Spring rush or have to wait till fall? Do the sororities even have a fall rush for sophomores in the fall? Do you need to know people to get a bid. How intense is rush? Do most girls get bids? If I have nice clothes that look good on me is that okay, or does everything need to be high end. Please fill me in on everything I need to know.
