greek life is close to being done
by: AddyInMyVeinsLet’s be real. Only worth joining 4 (5 would be a stretch) fraternities. Only worth joining 3 sororities (and maybe that underground society). Having said that, even in these worth it groups, the quality of greek members is on a decline. The kids that come to college now have either no control or huge entitlement. And with the crack down by new Deans it’s near impossible to have fun as there’s got to be constant monitoring by a large number of brothers and sisters at any party/event. Greek life in Miami needs a reboot and I think it starts with challenging the admins first.

People need to stfu with the whole "only a few are worth joining" crap. Obviously if three sororities and a ton of frats that you think "aren't worth joining" are full, partying every weekend, and retaining a good amount of members then a good amount of people think they're worth joining and mixing with. Get off your high horse; acting like a spoiled high schooler isn't a good look for anyone. It's so funny that you think someone will care what tier your fraternity was in college after you graduate tho; thanks for the laugh

There are basically two extremes here, which are both false. The truth is somewhere between. “It’s only worth joining if you go top three” vs. “ALL are acceptable.” The real truth is that most will at least be better off socially than a GDI except if you’re on the very bottom rung (Chi O/KKG, Alphasig/Lambda/Pike).

Honestly though...these other frats and sororitys under the “top” still have tons of members, formals, mixers, parties, opportunities for involvement, and everything else that anyone looks for out of greek life. Who are u to say thats not worth joining? Maybe for u, but greek life at this school is much bigger than what you think is “worthwhile”. Grow up
