how important is greek life at um?

If you're a girl, how important is being greek if you want to have a social life? Thinking of transferring in and not sure if I should rush or not as I'll be an upperclassman but I definitely go out a lot. Should i try to rush or are most girls fine without it? I wouldn't want to go greek just for the social aspect, but ik rush is usually tough for sophomores so I'm wondering what life at UM is like without it

Plenty of girls rush as sophomores so don't worry about that so much. Rush only if you think you actually want to be in a sorority though, only ~25-30% of people at UM are in Greek life so you can definitely have a great social life without being in one :)

You can definitely still go to stuff if you're not in greek life, but it's easier if you rush. A lot of sophmores rush so its not a big deal
