can i defer a bid?

Getting bids from a couple of frats and I was wondering if I can defer them. I rushed for fun but I’m not really ready to join a frat yet.

So how does that work? Once I get my bid, do I just tell the brothers that I want to defer it to next semester or what? Also, can I defer 2 bids or do I have to choose 1? Thank you!
