what’s the point?
by: For realWhat is the point of connecting with all the guys in the fraternity if the rush chair is the one who is in charge of giving out bids and being in charge of the invites only events. What’s the point of vibing with all of the guys and hanging out with them after Rush like at the Grove or at the Ratz. If at the end it’s out of their control and the Rush chair is the one who is in charge of making the cuts for the next round.

You got too many things wrong to even start. If you were actually tight with the dudes they'd let you know how it goes down.
Typically there's 3-5 guys involved in rush committee. Those guys have to do the bs and go through the school. Further, there's another 5-10 shadow guys not "officially" involved but doing the heavy lifting. These are the guys who smoke you up, introduce you to girls, arrange rides, cover your bar tab etc.
If any of those 15ish guys are strongly against you proceeding for a legit reason you won't get invited to the next round. But those guys need numbers and are looking for reasons to bid you. They want to find chill kids. Pledges = $ and slaves. Rush Chair isn't actually all that chill.
Who you need to watch out for are the girlfriends and slams of current brothers. They're way, waaayyyy less chill than the bros. They are the ones who honest to god make the cuts. Most dudes at the end of the day are whipped and want to keep good relationships with the sororitys so they just rubber stamp pumpkin's list.
Now get out there and be someone. If you're invited to interview ur prob straight. One more thing. Don't volunteer to be "Pledge Class President."

The point is that if your chill and meet people at the events two things Good can happen. Either people on the board are going to want you to move on or people who recommend will say talk to certain guys and might even introduce you. These are sig s you are doing well. If your just talking to guys not getting invited to events then it’s going to be tough to move on. Just being straight with you. The other guys are there so you get a feel for the frat and so that people who don’t fit in don’t crowd the important people involved.
