sorority dues

Hi I'm going to be a freshman next year and I've heard that some sororities(especially top tier) judge girls based on how much money they have, is this true? Also what are the dues on average?

For the most part the top tier really cares a lot about looks. A lot of them have money in addition to being hot, but I don't think any of them actively try to weed out girls that aren't rich.

Dues on average are like 500-800 a semester depending on the sorority, but it's usually more expensive your first semester bc of registration fees/buying a pin/etc.
