increasing your chances of getting bids

I am a freshman interested in rushing frats in the spring. I honestly care very less about "tiers" or the parties a frat throws compared to the type of the brothers and the overall brotherhood of the frat. I wanted to know if there's anything I can do during the fall semester to increase my chances of getting a bid from my first or second choice frat? Also, any tips for rush week are appreciated!

literally just try to talk to as many brothers as possible, especially in the earlier events. I feel like that was not made clear to me when I rush. If they've never seen your face before, they're gonna cut you.

Is there any way I can do that in particular? Like do frats host unofficial events during the fall or before formal rush week to which freshmen guys can go?
