why i dropped a top sorority after 1 semester
by: totty
not gonna say which one! The sorority here is "great" but everyone in was plastic Barbies. I initially joined because I was so excited to be invited to a "top" house and finally felt so cool and accepted. Once I joined, i realized that 99% of these girls only care about being "popular." I know two girls who were roommates and from the same hometown. They've known each other for 7 years. They rushed in this sorority together. They ended up not being friends anymore because one ended up so much more popular than the other, and she dumped her friend. People are really starting to catch on to this bad reputation of bad sisterhood and fake girls. My chapter never addressed it and just ignored it like it was normal. Now that I've dropped, they all treat me like dirt now and I've had one actually shove me out of the way to get a drink at a tailgate. It's "Highschool Mean girl" sorority. There is prevalent cattiness between sisters who aren't really friends with each other. People join for the rep, but soon find themselves surrounded by a lot of drama/gossip just in the sorority and within pledge classes.
please beware of what you get yourself into. I honestly wish i had joined a middle-bottom tier house, but now it's too late. and DON'T JOIN A HOUSE BASED ON RANK OR TIER.

I don’t think this is true at all. This is just some propaganda to promote girls to rush middle and lower tiers. I remember there was a similar post. I don’t know if anyone read it before but it was similar to this one. The similar previous post was a about an alumni writing about how she regretted to be in DG and how if she went back to school again she would have rush the one with the better sisterhood and not the most popular. This post has the same message but with a different twisted story ending.

of course friendship between women isn't a lie you weirdo, this is an anonymous post about sorority drama, not a universal statement about women as a whole, c'mon
