my main advice: don't go in "looking to rush a top tier sorority". as an ex-gamma chi i can assure you the worst type of pnm is the close-minded one. you're just going to ruin the experience for yourself.
but to answer your question, i have friends on the track team, cheerleading, etc. (some graduated) who are/were all in sororities. they were all hellishly busy. some chapters here tend to recruit more athletic girls than others, though. keep that in mind.
