Overall Greek life is laid back at uncw. Not intense like bigger schools. There is definitely a beach look that you have to carry on. It’s kind of awkward because there’s no sports to cheer for (or party for) with your sorority.. Honestly I wouldn’t do it again because my personality isn’t solely posting bikini pics daily.. I like the Greek life at surrounding schools better they actually look like more is going on.

The sororities don’t haze at all. I’ve heard frats might. They don’t have houses but they have suites. Everyone is pretty nice and do Greek life to get involved and make friends. Not a huge Greek scene but big enough to be worth joining.

Honestly it’s not worth rushing here. Greek life has done nothing but make my four years here miserable. I’m a senior and as I reflect on my time here, I realize that my sorority is the sole reason for all my misery and has seriously damaged my mental health throughout what’s supposed to be some of the best years of my life.

UNCW try’s so hard to be all about Greek life and tbh no one cares. The majority of the people on campus don’t care if you’re in a sorority or a frat. The people who are, are not attractive. I think there’s some hot girls. But like there are no hot guys in frats. They all average but yet we are at an all white school sooo....you do get what you came here for.

Greek housing for sorority’s is just suites so that obviously sucks. UNCW Greek life is smaller than a lot of schools but is obviously still there, and they’re 95% really attractive, fraternity and sorority.

Greek life at UNCW is irrelevant to how involved you can be or how cool you are. The first semester of freshman year it might seem like it matters to be in Greek life, but you’ll quickly realize it’s unnecessary and fake. It is drama filled and distracting, and doesn’t benefit anyone enough to be worth it, at least at this school. It is for people stuck in high school mentally who need validation and letters to have self worth or (fake) friends.

Most of the Greek life here is uppity and rude lol. I get sororities and frats are important to a college but dang we all are here to get a degree, not treat others like crap.
