I’m a senior at uncw and never joined a sorority but i live with girls from multiple different sororities and one is a chi o. It is so cool how at uncw all the sororities coexist and get along. I transferred from a larger school and there was always arguing between different sororities. I think if I would have rushed I would have picked Chi O because i’ve only had friendly encounters with them and their all very social. Also very well known by everyone at uncw haha. I don’t think i’ve had a class yet where someone doesn’t know my roommates or one of her friends. I love all my roommates and the sororities but I just wanted to give some appreciation to all the Chi O’s I’ve met and become close to!!

they had a great philanthropy event with lambda chi last semester that ended up being a lot of fun. you don’t see a lot of fraternities and sororities doing a philanthropy event together and actually make money off of it. all the girls there were friendly, and even though there was bad weather, they still made sure the event went on perfectly! can’t wait for their fall event

alpha phi who? honestly all the positive ratings are obviously written by their own members. the only things you hear about alpha phi is them being in some kind of drama or how hot they are. they don’t really do much on campus, don’t involve themselves in greek life, and choose not to mix with anyone but like 2 fraternities. i’m not in greek life but i’ve been told that they only take blonde girls, not sure if that’s true but the only ones i know are blonde.

they think they are the best fraternity because they win the most awards but in reality they’re one of the worst. most of the guys are rude and think it’s funny to make fun of girls, especially in their fraternity group chat. it’s ironic that they think that what they say doesn’t get around to girls and different sororities. they are new on campus but have already started feuding with fraternities and talking crap about sororities because they think they’re too good to mix with them. they are a bad example of greek life on campus and it sucks to see them “winning” awards over fraternities who actually deserve them. you might have a friend here or there in alpha sig but he’ll probably only be your friend until someone newer or better comes along. #sorrynotsorry

I have a few friends in axo who seem to enjoy it, but really only for the occasional party. They are very cliquey and don’t seem to really want to be involved with any other sorority but their own. Some of the girls are so sweet and friendly, but a lot of the newer girls seem a little less friendly and stick their noses up more at other girls. You’ll usually find a group of axo’s at a frat party, but I wouldn’t advise approaching them because they probably will just turn you away (it’s happened). All this being said, you can find some friends for life in this sorority if you’re willing to get through all the fake girls and not really doing or associating with anyone else’s in greek life.

Seems like they lost their momentum in the spring semester, but they are still new and growing. Definitely the smallest sorority on campus and seem to have the least motivated member.

I know a few girls who are very nice, but also some that can be super mean. There seems to be some sort of divide, and I wouldn’t really call them a sorority seeing as they don’t involve themselves in any other part of greek life, other than mandatory things.

I see other posters feel the same way but Phi Mu has really dropped in the last few years. When I first came to UNCW they were one of the top sororities but were always so nice and recruited amazing and sweet girls. These last 2-3 years it seems like that has done a complete 180 because now the girls are mean and think they’re better than everyone else. The older girls in it still have the old Phi Mu vibes, but Ive heard of newer members talking bad about the older girls and saying things like “I’m not even sure how she got into Phi Mu”. Makes me sad seeing my good friends who are graduated Phi Mu’s or seniors having their sorority torn down by petty girls who only care about their reputation and who is dating who :(
