Rec letters definitely help. It's certainly not required, but it can definitely strengthen the likelihood you get into the chapter.

You can only get rec letters from alumni of the sorority. I don't recommend getting a rec letter for every single sorority. If you are interested in a sorority because of their philanthropy, sisterhood, or any other reason prior to recruitment, get a rec letter for them!

they're not that common at uncc, I wouldn't worry about it unless you know of someone that wants to write one for you
