Many of the comments on here just keep bashing this sorority, but I beg to differ. Plus, those reviews are from SO long ago, I think they are different now. They are very involved on campus and I think they do what they can with their size. As a group of 50+ women, I can see how it can be difficult to manage! I looked it up and they currently have an average GPA of 3.3 which is pretty good to me. I talk to some of the sisters and honestly, they are usually in the library. Of course there are parties, but like, thats college... Also, when it comes to sisterhood, I feel like we shouldn't judge them if we aren't even a part of their sisterhood. We don't know what goes on. I unfortunately don't meet the GPA requirement, but I plan on rushing once I do!!

Alpha Sigma Tau is very involved on campus. I see a lot of sisters at events on campus and they are definitely one of the more well known Greek organizations. Their philanthropy is geared towards helping women which really caught my attention, and I remember seeing them at the Walk A Mile table at the fall club fair. It's great to see a group of girls trying to make a difference on campus with a cause they really care about.

Friends with quite a few of the girls in AST. I see them everywhere on campus and see a lot of diversity within the group. Since they're the only panhellenic one on campus, they provide the most post-college connections. I hear a lot about girls getting jobs from alum. Within a group of girls as big as them, there's some drama but they seem to stand by each other regardless. Definitely the best sorority on campus as far as involvement, connections, and having a good time though. See them a lot in both the library and at parties. There's a place for everyone. Seems like a good balance and I'm thinking about rushing this semester.

I just transferred to UML last semester. I had looked into the different sororities here and talked to a few of them. However, I was really stressed about the adjustment to a new school, so I decided not to rush. All the AST’s were so understanding and actually reached out to me throughout the semester to try to help me feel comfortable here. It really made me feel like it was about real friendship and support. I’m looking forward to rushing with them this semester!

I have heard a lot of negative things about Ast business wise. First off they praise they are the only Panhellenic sorority on campus, but is that really a good thing? Doesn’t Panhellenic prevent sisters who pays dues and etc from attending socials and recruitment events. They have the ability to remove sisters from the sorority as well. Girls who have spent years in the organization and put in the most work don’t get any credit then get removed and shunned. I’m not sure if the girls are nice, I do see them around campus a lot and I would hope an active chapter of 70 girls would have a lot of diverse woman in the organization. However they are known to be very cliquey even inside their own organization and I only ever see the same 15 or so girls going to the same events.

This is by far the best sorority on campus. All the girls genuinely have great personalities and are social and involved on campus. I'm always seeing them host events and philanthropies. They have so many different girls and personalities but yet they all seem to work together in a way. Alpha Sigma Tau is the only national Panhellenic sorority on campus, so it makes sense why they are the biggest and the best.
