Prosecution of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity
by: Administration
Hello and good morning UCSD students,
It has come to our attention that the fraternity Pi Kappa Alpha (Pike) is under serious investigation for hazing. Multiple witnesses have come forward, providing evidence of unlawful activities that have taken place within the organization. After a thorough review, in collaboration with university officials, has suspended Pike from participating in rush and all social events indefinitely, pending further investigation.
The charges currently under investigation include, but are not limited to, the following felonies:
1. Hazing (California Penal Code Section 245.6)
Defined as any method of initiation or pre-initiation into a student organization that is likely to cause physical harm, mental harm, or personal degradation.
2. Battery (California Penal Code Section 242)
Battery occurs when there is any willful and unlawful use of force or violence against another person.
3. False Imprisonment (California Penal Code Section 236)
This involves the unlawful violation of the personal liberty of another by means of restraint or confinement without consent.
4. Assault with a Deadly Weapon (California Penal Code Section 245)
This charge involves committing an assault upon another person using any type of deadly weapon or force likely to cause significant bodily injury.
5. Supplying Alcohol to Minors (California Business and Professions Code Section 25658)
This charge pertains to the illegal provision or sale of alcohol to individuals under the age of 21.
6. Criminal Threats (California Penal Code Section 422)
This charge involves making threats of physical harm or violence against another person with the intent to cause fear or distress.
These allegations are grave and have serious legal and university consequences. We urge students to come forward with any additional information that may assist in the ongoing investigation. UCSD is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment, and any behavior that violates this standard will be addressed with the utmost seriousness.
Thank you for your attention to this critical matter.

Few things to note. Number one if you’re posing as ifc administration you would note that ifc under NIC guidelines is unable to take action on any of the aforementioned items as, you correctly identified, they are CALIFORNIA penal codes. The IFC is a student run organization that is precluded from prosecuting or investigating ongoing legal matters.
Secondly, ifc wouldn’t do business on greekrank. Any official announcements would be made through more appropriate channels
Thirdly, I encourage you to run for ifc that way you won’t have to pose online! You may be able to learn more of the ins and outs so you don’t have to make such uneducated, albeit well worded claims, as this.
