Chapter 4: The Decision
As the days passed, Garkus found himself torn. He loved the light that Muben brought into his life, the joy of being carefree and laughing together. But with Yeric, there was a spark that ignited his ambitions, a passion that challenged him to be better.
One afternoon, while walking through the park, Garkus realized he had to be honest with himself. He could feel the weight of his decision coming to a head. He wanted a partner who matched his heart and ambition.
He called Muben and Yeric to the Lambda Chi house for a final conversation. As they sat in the living room, Garkus took a deep breath. “I’ve made my decision,” he began, looking at each of them, while Muben gridded his signature salt gun, his knuckles turining white.
“I care about both of you, but I need to follow my heart. Muben, you bring light into my life that I can’t ignore. Yeric, your drive inspires me every day. But I can’t be the one to tear us all apart.”
He paused, feeling the tears prick his eyes. “I’m choosing to be with you, Muben.”
Muben’s expression softened, a mix of relief and joy washing over his features, while Yeric’s gaze hardened but showed a flicker of understanding.
“Just know that I’ll always support you,” Yeric said, his voice steady. “Even if it hurts.”
