Dirty rushing, or "inappropriate Panhellenic contact" can be several things. It could be a sorority giving you favors, like buying you dinner or tickets to a movie, taking you to their own party or a frat party or anything with alcohol involved, or even promising you a bid.

Why is dirty rushing harmful to the Panhellenic community? It takes away the chance for every PNM to find their perfect fit for themselves. Girls feel pressured to join the sorority that "dirty rushed" them. Also, girls choose their sorority based on superficial and menial things - partying and boys. You should choose your sorority based on whose values align with yours and whose girls inspire you to be better. And the sorority that you can picture yourself in and being best friends with all of the girls, NOT parties.

Obviously you can do as you may as a PNM, but please keep in mind the sororities that didn't dirty rush you too. Don't feel as though they are ignoring you or don't feel as though you're important. Difference sororities have different values, and those who didn't dirty rush you may have felt that they would rather recruit according to the rules and get great girls that way.

Honestly, I don't believe that ranking, any kind of ranking, should be used to determine which house you should be a part of. Every chapter has their own strengths and weaknesses. It all depends on what is most important to you.

However, keep in mind that sororities throw these 'parties' in order to get you to sway your opinion and manipulate your preferences. This negatively affects your recruitment experience, so be careful!
