question time

by: Tired

Why does this website insist on being a place where people find amusement in trying to ruin each other's names? In so many other schools on here the comments are constructive, and for the most part do not try to darken a chapter's reputation. There are some negative moments, but can't we highlight the good moments more? What about the fact that every sorority brought in some genuine girls, or the fact that every chapter had a good day supporting each of their philanthropies? OR the fact that there were some pretty fun events like Miss Minerva, Delta Queen, Sports Week and Anchor Splash that everyone gets excited about? What about the fun at letters getting to see everyone enjoy themselves, listening to music, catching up with their friends or working hard on homework? Can't we focus on all this good? Because this community is the only people that care about us, and if we don't care about each other, then we just become as irrelevant as everyone else on campus believes we are.

Are you the same Adpi trying to spread Panhellenic love and Greek unity on a superficial site?

Same person but not an adpi, I just don't see why people should be bashing on anyone on here. Its supposed a community not a school locker room full of bullies picking on the new people, the popular kids, and anyone who isn't them. How can you expect respect when you don't give respect in return?

I am not an adpi either and I have posted something about panhellenic unity too. I think our greek community has a serious problem with bullying, backbiting, and overall thinking they're better than everyone else. It resembles high school. I have friends in greek life at schools like ASU and they don't hate on other orgs as much as people here. I am sure if we all put our energy into doing what our founding members wanted instead of hating on each other, greek life would be way better at UCR.

Whenever someone comments on the Kappa post, someone should post a good thing about the community on this thread
