new member fees
by: Incoming FreshmanSo I'm an incoming freshman and am interested in rushing this fall, I'm particularly interested in gamma phi beta. However, I was wondering what the range for new member fees is? My parents are divorced so I'd like to give them an estimate so they can see how to handle it on top of tuition, housing, and all. I understand if it's not appropriate to discuss this, but any input would be appreciated.

Contact Panhellenic, they should have the information you need. Usually new member fees are higher than regular dues for actives but you should be able to schedule a payment plan throughout your new member period if that helps. As soon as you accept your bid, talk to an officer of finance and see what options they have for you. Be sure to do this ASAP so that you'll have ample time to plan. My suggestion is apply for work study/a part time job if you want to be in a sorority but have financial concerns. A lot of girls work and pay for sororities. Good luck! Hope you get the sorority you love.
