time for change!

by: 2016

AU greek life is held back by the stupid restrictions on sororities. It's the only large greek life school that doesn't allow sorority houses. It's high time that we get a sorority row!

It is SO time for a change. Sorority dorms....really? What are we, a community college?

It does truly make us seem like a smaller, community college. We need to get on this and get some houses built!

If we're being honest here, the reason we don't have sorority houses is because of financial issues. Bama has them but bama has way more money. Students have more money and so does alumni. Plus Greek life is much better there. But I would love to see us make an attempt to make sorority houses a thing

As a Senior, I must say I agree. I don't think I have missed out on a whole lot but when you travel to all of the surrounding schools, visit/stay in their houses, there is no comparison. We have dorms. They have houses. It is VASTLY different.

The postings and number of up-likes here possibly indicate a strong alumni-based push on greekrank for Auburn sorority homes. Parents see their money going to a school with no sorority housing tradition, and they complain here and up-like their own advice to 'get/keep the ball rolling'.

Any thoughtful, in-depth study of the issue of sorority housing should be taken over a span of 6-10 years so four year students (with their parents) don't skew any polls/studies taken. Schools must think and plan for the long-term, not based on a whim and a quick one-year study based of comments and up-likes from this anonymous greek discussion site.

Sororities themselves will have to plan for housing in the long-term with increased fees/dues toward possible future housing. Demanding homes be built NOW without their united and solid input and advice will put-off and possibly eliminate sorority groups from further future participation on our campus.

It's not that hard. Literally every other school does this. Somehow, Auburn doesn't seem to be able to. Guessing it goes back to the money issue.

We are looked down on by other schools! Things need to improve!
