time for change!

AU greek life is held back by the stupid restrictions on sororities. It's the only large greek life school that doesn't allow sorority houses. It's high time that we get a sorority row!

Alabama had their gorgeous $12 million sorority houses. We suck.

Alabama gets EVERYTHING. They have sorority mansions, a helluva lot nicer campus, bigger stadium, freshman dorms with pools. Ugh.

Just went on a college tour today w my son at Auburn. I'm an alumni from another SEC school and lived in a gorgeous sorority house. It only housed 84 girls, and with pledge classes back then of 60 girls not everyone got to live in the house. I lived there until I graduated. We weren't allowed alcohol in our house, no boys past 1st floor. We had cooks, maids. The house was just tore down and rebuilt $16m only for 95 girls to live in the house and they now have 150 PC's. Wouldn't trade anything for living in a sorority house!!!! You all are definitely missing out. When someone starts a college tour with the word "ya'll" and there are no sorority houses..something is wrong. :-) campus is gorgeous though.

To those of you saying that getting houses would cause less girls to join greek life, I disagree with you! Sure it would be more expensive but I feel like a lot more people would be interested in joining if we had houses. Our sorority members here never get to bond as much as the one at other schools because there is no central meeting place to hang out at and be guaranteed to interact with people because nobody hangs out in the chapter rooms all the time. I think houses would improve our sisterhoods and make us all closer friends! My freshmen year I barely knew anyone in my sorority but I bet if we had a house I would have known a lot more girls
