what's with this big six stuff??
by: ....The thought that we have a big six for frats and sororities is so stupid and definitely not tru. everyone has their own opinions on who they like best and there aren't really specifically 6 that stand out. And also just why 6? find something better to do with your lives people

Big "#" relates to the groups that are generally always considered top in most opinions around campus. Sure some would argue that others be included in the top group, but those general fraternities and sororities are almost always labeled as "top tier." Like at Auburn there's more of a "Big 6" fraternities and "Big 5" sororities. Of course the term "big" can be replaced with "top" or "elite" or whatever since it's not a household expression here.
At AU, these are the "Big" groups that usually aren't debated. There are others that make a case but are debatable.
"Big" 6 Fraternities:
Fiji, Sigma Nu, Theta Chi, KA, SAE, Beta
"Big" 5 Sororities:
KD, Chi O, ADPi, Phi Mu, Alpha Gam

Stop with this "legacy value" bs. It means nothing. Rank based on the quality of the sorority as it is. Involvement, notoriety, attractiveness, fraternity relations, grades. Big 5: ΚΔ, ΑΔΠ, ΦΜ, ΑΓΔ, ΧΩ just like it's always been.
