what does bump mean? also how do people know the grades and involvement of each fraternity? Do they publicly post grades for each fraternity? Also why would this even go into consideration when ranking a fraternity

IFC publicly posts each fraternity's GPA after every semester. Involvement is just known by being on campus because you see who all has members involved in campus.

This is considered because higher GPA means the fraternity is more likely to have successful brothers after college, meaning a strong alumni backing. Involvement shows how much influence and dominance the fraternity has in campus affairs.
