Is it rude to say you can't come to a rush event because you're going to someone else's? I want exposure to many places to get an idea of where I want to go

Not at all. Just be nice about it. Say something like "thank you for the invite but I'm busy that weekend" and if you are interested ask about dates for other events they're having.
