by: worried teenagerI'm from the north and I'm very worried I'm going to get cut from rush. I have a 3.2 GPA, 29 ACT. To be honest I'm funny, attractive, and out going. I don't have any sorority connections. I do lots of clubs/community service. Will i get cut from rush?

Hi! Your chances honestly might be limited because some sororities set their GPA limit at 3.4/3.5, but not all of them. If you make a really great impression on a girl she will fight for you. I also had a 3.2 GPA and a 2190 SAT and went from 17 to 7 sororities for philanthropy day but I'm terrible at small talk also. Maybe try to work in conversation if your school was extra competitive.

The truth is very few PNMs get completely cut. The system is designed to get everybody a bid on Bid Day, but the bigger more competitive groups cut for grades. That number is set by the chapter and may change so they cant say for sure which chapter does which. That number may be a little flexible- in particular for a legacy.
There is also usually a number that their national organization requires to initiate. We cannot take someone below that - it wouldn't be fair if you couldn't initiate.
So you won't get cut completely for just that - you just may not have as many choices as Suzy Perfect with a 4.0
