sorority comments

All I have to say is when you pref KD, Phi Mu, and Pi Phi you can not get a bad sorority. I love my girls! War Eagle.

But, you can also say that about all our groups! Great all the way around!

Gamma Phi is honored to share a campus with all of these excellent sororities. Auburn has a wonderful Greek program and each and every sorority is wonderful in its own way! Love to you all!

I am a senior at the University of Texas, with a sister who is a freshman and recently pledged at Auburn (and we live in Georgia, so our parents are thrilled that we both went to school out of state :-) I wanted to take a look and see how our sorority shapes up at Auburn. I'm not sure what to think. On page after page I find that so many of your sororities are going out of their way to say nice things about all of the other houses. Did everyone at Auburn drink "happy juice" or something? It's really different than at UT where so many of the comments are cruel and hurtful. You have some negatives, of course, but they are shouted down by everyone making nice around them. Whatever you guys have, you should bottle it and sell it to other schools. I think I'm a little jealous of my kid sister. But not much. "Hook em Horns!!"

I think we just got tired of the bashing. It wasn't accomplishing anything. An anonymous site should never be taken too seriously. Some of our houses just worry and obsess over these rankings, while others almost never get on here. Do I agree w/ the way these houses are ranked? Heck no! Does it matter? No. Self-ranking doesn't bother me because that ranking is true in the eyes of that member who is in love with her sorority. More power to her!

Great post below!!All the groups self-rank and they should be proud of their group and have pride in all that they do...where it goes wrong is when people get on here and bash other groups for no reason. There is no numbered system here that really "rates" any group so in reality..the number your group is does not mean anything so there is no reason for anyone to write bad things to bring one down. I think our groups saw that someone has been ranking low and writing such awful things that the majority of all the members in all the groups just put the stop to the negativity that was going on. ALL our groups are so good!!! Keep up the good work ladies and we can get rid of all those bad posts! War Eagle!!

I love the Texas comment below! Yes, we are drinking "happy juice" over here in Auburn because we are all so proud of our school and our greek system. We have a lot of pride and a lot of respect for one another. My decision to come to Auburn and go greek was among the best that I have ever made. I love all 17 houses! Y'all are all amazing!

Sorry to burst the bubble, but some of it honestly seems a little fake...People with the best of intentions are those who give positive ranks and remarks without identifying what sorority they are in. Let's have some genuineness here and not turn this into a competition over which sorority comes off LOOKING the most charitable. Calling out specific comments and pages for recognition comes off looking very 'manufactured.' I agree that we need to keep it classy, but let's also keep it real.

The poster below this one "eh.." may not be looking at the whole picture..it is that many of us are happy that all of our groups are so good. It is a pleasure to tell someone that "my group is good, but all our groups are good". After rush this year (and it was great!) my mother had a friend tell her (the friend did NOT have anyone at Auburn) that she had heard Auburn's rush had been fantastic for ALL the groups! Now that is something wonderful to hear. Let's cheer all our groups on..and there is nothing fake about that!

seems to me that both of you have a point. Some of it does come off a bit 'saccharine'. It is an anonymous site, so some groups will use any opportunity to promote themselves. My chapter does not advertise itself on everyone's page, but we do try to keep things positive and focus on the strength's rather than the weaknesses of other groups. That being said, this still beats the hell out of the below- the- belt bashing, insults, etc.
