sorority comments

AS a senior sister, I agree with fratsr also, I think Phi Mu and Chi-O are tops. I also think AGD is great. I like Pi Phi because they do their own thing and they are beautiful much like the Phi Mu's. Chi-O and Phi Mu are the most welled girls on campus. I almost went KD, so glad I didn't. They get about 10 good girls a year, then the rest are there because of Daddy's money. I love AOPi,DG, and Sigma Kappa. All three of these are good. The past 2 rushes have been great for Aopi, and DG. ADPI what has happen to you? When I came on campus, you were awesome.

If you are rushing in the fall, you should pledge ADG, Phi Mu, Pi PHi, or Chi-O. They are the most fun girls. Chi-O and Phi Mu probably get the overall best girls; however these 4 are tops. KD is also good, but money driven. After these five, I would say AOPI, DG, and ADPI in that order. Personally, Chi-O, Phi Mu, and AOPI are my 3 favs.

The rankings are a little off. For sure Chi-O, Phi Mu, and Kd are top 3. No doubt!! Alpha Gam should be 4th and Pi Phi is correct at 5th. AOPI would be the for sure 6th. KD, Phi Mu and PiPhi have the WOW factor. They love dressing up and struting their stuff. Chi-O and Alpha Gam are a little more conservative. AOPi likes to dress also. Next would be ADPI and DG.

A high school friend who rushed in fall asked me to visit here and rate her sorority. She'll be mad at me I guess.
What jumps out about this stuff is these groups who claim to be "sisters and brothers" come here and rip each other apart. I clicked on 6 or 7 at random and not one did not have several entries where they were insulted and given the lowest possible score. Hard to buy that any group of 100 + girls could be so bad it rated all 1's. So much for lifting each other up.
It looks like a few raters like Senior Sis, WDEfratsr, and 1 or 2 others thought their comments through and tried to give credit where it's due. Maybe you need the maturity of a sr. and long term campus experience to have seen groups change and grow to be fair and not just rate your buds high and everyone else low. But I'm a 2nd sem. freshman, so what do I know?
Anyway. If this site is an example of how Greeks treat each other, yall can have it. You can all unite and be mad at me!!

It's good that you're thinking about ways to boost your resume for rush, grades and involvement are important. It takes a bit more than cheering and minimum volunteer work to be well rounded, not sure what kind of volunteering you've done but the more the better. Other school activities beside cheering would also help. Of course, reputation is always very important. It will take a good alum writing a good rec or friends in chapter to stand up for your character, and personality and how you present yourself in rush as well. Also, don't set your mind on just those 3 or think they are the only good groups. They are great and have wonderful girls, but so does every sorority. Go in with an open mind, thats so important! You don't want to have your heart set, get disappointed, and miss out on another house in the process. You'll find the right fit and have a blast!

with the two comments immediately below. You do need to get recs in and keep in mind that most groups have to save room for a certain number of legacies. Keeping an open mind is very important. I would just add that it's vital that you BE YOURSELF!! Don't be what you think a certain house wants to see in a rushee. You won't be happy over four years if you fool yourself over where you really need to be. I had 3 houses that I thought I really wanted going into rush. One of them cut me right away, which was devastating. The other two, I was surprised that I did not feel any real connection with the girls I met there. I was also surprised at how comfortable I felt each time I went back to the place where I am now a sister. Be honest with yourself during the recruitment process. Find where you fit. See you this fall. Good luck!
