sorority comments

I cannot think of any of those top tiers listed that would say anything like that girl did to"Hey Mom". That is someone trying to ACT like they are from one of those groups! If you want to find who is wrting the negative and derogatory things, check the ones that are TRYING to make themselves look like they are higher than those groups they are writing mean things about. It is a shame really that someone would go to this extent to write stuff of that nature. I have friends in all those groups and they are great. AU is blessed to have such wonderful girls in all the sororities. There is always one or two that ruin the equation however.

I am in one of those groups that is considered "tops" and I know of no one that would even consider writing things like that on a wall (the girl who is writing the negative things about some of the groups below). Auburn has a great group of girls for sure!

Don't pay much attention to this site. The rankings are all off. When you get to recruitment you'll have a better idea of what group you want to join and what they're like.

Ima, so you think that it's not girls in the "top" houses writing about bad reps in the "lower" houses? You think it is girls in the "lower" houses writing those lies?
Hmmm, If you get rid of all the "lower" houses, then with a system like Auburn's all the girls you don't think are worthy will be placed in your "top" houses in 200 person pledge classes. Is that what you're going for?

Exactly. Not everybody wants to be in the "top" sororities and not all "lower" sororities are filled with the girls with reputation problems. You can look around at the top houses and clearly see that. There needs to be a place for everyone, even girls from out of state, late bloomers, girls who weren't popular in HS, etc. I even know one girl who ended up in a lower sorority because after a guy broke up with an older girl he asked her out in HS. Then the older girl and her friends cut her from all the top sororoities just to be mean. She's very happy and successful in a lower sorority.

Thanks for letting us know that you were a KD @ AU in 84. It should be easy to find your daughter now to cut her after 1st round. You just did more damage for your daughter than any negativity that can be ignored by those that don't want to follow it by not even getting on this site.

I am shocked at some of the recent blogs. Some people are so rude. I have one thing to say. If you find yourself able to pledge one of the following, consider yourself very lucky:
KD,Phi Mu, Pi Phi, AGD,Chi-O and Adpi.

The top sororities on campus are KD,Phi Mu, Alpha Gam and Pi Phi. No others compares.

I am also a KD ('81) and as KD mother I can definitely be proud that there are parents that stand up for what is right and what is wrong and writing such negative things about the other groups is wrong. As for the girl that wrote to "Disgusted Parent" below..her daughter would not want to be in your group any way if that is how your groups mentality is ( I doubt that very many in that group act like that or they would have no girls pledge). My daughter knows she may not get KD, but she is ready to pledge a group and do the best she can to participate at Auburn within that group. THAT is how it should be. It is not a given that any legacy will get a bid in any sorority, especially when there are 200 legacies going through for each group. If your group cuts her daughter, all I can say is thank goodness, maybe she will have a chance at KD or another group where she can make a difference.
