sorority comments

Finally! We all know that all our groups are great! That is what we need to push! I have friends in all the groups. Because of going through rush and meeting so many new friends, I can honestly say I know someone just about anywhere I go. THAT is what it is ABOUT! Having fun with your new sorority and knowing that you have at least 200 new "sisters" and a ton of friends that pledged other groups. It is all good!

As a mother who has looked at this site, I am also pleased that some of the bashing has let up. It really does make rushees scared to see the groups being so mean to each other and the ranking also makes it look as though they should not pledge many groups. When girls get on here and write cruel and vicious things, it is not a sign of maturity in any form, and that is part of what being in a sorority is suppose to do...help one gain some maturity. I want my daughter to be in a group that loves her sorority, but also values friendship with others. It helps prepare you for life after college believe me.

I am also a mom that is watching and I have to wonder myself why these girls continue to place these ranks in here? If you want to have a great rush, play up the great points of panhellenic and all the sororities. Why try to make it look like if you are not one of those top 2 or 3 it's not worth your time to rush? It hurts the system and eventually hurts all the groups because less girls will go through in later years or many will not pledge a group because they wanted another. So much for a mom's thoughts.

True, but the Auburn Greek Girls are doing a great job of keeping it classy.

Are you saying that Gamma Phi, Theta, Kappa, and AZD are ALL filled with girls with bad reputations? That is totally a lie. There may be some girls like that in some of the houses, but some of these houses are filled with very classy girls. All houses have some girls who cause trouble, but you are not truthful if you say the houses in your lowest tier are filled with girls like that. Admit it.

Pesonally, the girl that posted that stuff sounds like the people she is writing about. Not one group at AU is like that. What a sick individual that wrote that. I would be super embarrased if ANY one in my sorority wrote anything like that.

If you think about it, sororities with bad reps aren't that way for no reason. Are all the girls like that? No. Some? Yes. If you stick with the upper half of the sororities then you won't have to worry about getting a bad rep. But don't be stupid, there are bad groups at Auburn, just like every other school.

Can't go wrong with KD, Chi O, Alpha Gam, or ADPi.

Girls in the lower tier sororities do not all have bad reps. The reason why they are lower tier could be because they haven't been on campus forever (legacy), etc... There are chapters in the upper tier with far worse reps. Your daughters need to go where they feel most comfortable. And if the top sororities are so great, then why are they on here bashing the lower tiers? Make you wonder? That in itself should tell you what type of girls they are. If they are willing to say such hateful things on here, where no one knows their name, think about what they will say behind your daughters back? All the sororities have great girls and ALL have a few bad apples!!!
