sorority comments

I have been on campus a year. I really like pi phi, adpi, phi mu, and chi-O. I am rushing as a sophomore. Do I have a good chance of getting one of these as a sophomore? I know girls in a couple of these and I have a 3.6 gpa.

@sophomore - why dont you ask your friends in them and get them to stand up for you?

I'm from a small town in north Georgia. I don't think we have alumni associations. In fact, I'm sure of it. I got phi mu, alpha gam, kkg, tri delt, KD, dz, and one other. I've pretty much come to the realization that if not having a piece of paper from someone I hardly know keeps me out of a sorority, then that's not the one for me.
On a different note, I'm very excited for rush. Like I said, I'm the only person from my school that chose Auburn so I'm excited to make some new friends.

of girls will pledge and they did nt find their own rec. Do not worry about it! They will get one on you if they want you.

Plenty--I disagree about the recs. We have to have a rec and sometimes are tooo busy to worry about it.

Re-- I agree about dues. Our dues are much high some months depending upon activities.

newtogreek--Rush is a crazy week. It helps so much if the potential rushee has a rec. If you are from Ga, you need a pi phi rec also. Lots of Ga girls pledge Phi mu, and pi phi.Probably a third of their sororities are from georgia. We have a few GA girls in my sorority, but not as many as those two.

Seriously: KD,PhiMu,PiPhi,AGD are my favs. Chi-O and ADPI both had lots of problems this year. However, both are still really good sororities.

I'm starting to think that putting my mom's sorority on my resume may get me cut from other good sororities. Will members of the other houses automatically think I'm going to go with my mom's sorority and not give me a chance? Now I'm nervous.

are alpha kappa alpha, zeta phi beta, and delta sigma theta even sororities at auburn? because i've never heard of them.

No. I am a legacy and it did not affect me one bit. On pref day I had KD, Phi Mu, and Chi-O. I was not cut by a major sorority at all. Almost wish that a couple had cut me, because after skit day, I was very confused.

I think all this bashing within the ranks is ridiculous. Take it from a male pt of view: if you have the chance to pledge pi phi,phi mu, kd,agd,aopi,or adpi you better jump on it.
