Im attending auburn in the fall and was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what the perception of alpha chi omega is on campus without being biased

All the groups are absolutely wonderful! You won't go wrong if you get a bid from any of them! All in!

The main thing to remember about rush and sororities, at Auburn or anywhere, is that preconceived ideas are usually not true. In spite of how the comments on sites like this may tend to run as recruitment approaches, you will find that every group has wonderful, bright, involved ladies. Keep an open mind toward every house and find the place that is right for you based on what you see and hear first hand. Welcome to the Auburn family. War Eagle and good luck!

Hometown friend pledged top sorority --- Lovely girls---but once she was a memeber she realized she did not "fit"--simply because she chose based on what she was told was the best and not what she thought was right for her. She was unhappy and not as active as she could have been. Go with your heart no what the crowd or gossip says.

are right on the money! The Greek community at Auburn is strong throughout. The key to being happy and satisfied with where you end up is to be open to what ALL of the groups have to offer. This is not a place to "go with the flow" or use the opinions of others to make your choice. It's a big commitment of your time. You need to be where you feel you are a good fit.

recruitment process with an open and receptive mind. There is truly something for everybody in Auburn's Greek community. You have the old, traditional houses like Phi Mu, Chi-O, and Alpha Gam with long histories and legacies on campus. Then there are houses like Delta Gamma, ADPi, Sigma Kappa, and KKG that have established themselves as great groups over the past few years. Other groups like TriDelt, Zeta, Alpha Chi, and so many others all bring something special to the table. Concentrate on meeting as many girls in as many groups as you can. Make the choice that feels right for you!

all of auburn's sororities are great! i have friends in just about all of them that are wonderful girls! if you can't find a home and best friends in one of them, you are the problem and not the sorority!

Are there any sororities that take mostly leagcies? Please be honest and don't just say "all are great."

You asked what people think of AXO, and my answer would be they are a great group and considered somewhere in the middle. AG XO KD and PhiMu (no order) are considered the top houses at AU; but ADPi and AOPi are well rounded and right there with them; if you are going by generally what people say alone because there is no ranking system at AU at all! After saying that, it really is true that every sorority is awesome and deserves to be considered carefully because every sorority at AU has great girls and you will be happiest where you feel you fit best during rush. I would never advise you go in wanting the 6 mentioned above or AXO without giving consideration to all the sororities because you need to find a group you like and where you feel fits who you are to be happy, not what others think. Not everyone can be in the ones mentioned above and not everyone should WANT to. Each sorority at AU has different positives, and again, it only matters where you feel you fit best! War Eagle!
