reality of fraternity tiers
by: SECIt's so stupid and I don't understand it. What makes ATO and Sigma Pi different from Fiji? They're like the same fraternity but only Fiji gets the top tier recognition. How about Pike in relation to Sigma Nu? Again, they're the same in too many ways but SNu gets the top status. I'm not done yet! Lambda Chi and Theta Chi? Sig Ep and Beta? They're exactly the same but only Theta Chi and Beta are recognized as top tiers around campus. I could go on but it's so stupid! How could people be so superficial?! Those "top" fraternities are no better than the others and don't deserve the credit they're given when other equally great fraternities match them in every way. I'm sick of it.

Pike does not throw parties like Snu does. Even if they did us girls would not go. They do have a nice house that is on old row.
While ATO and Fiji have similarities such as involvement and high GPA. Fiji tends to pull more girls and has a much nicer house. ATO seems to have a better brotherhood and tends to be a bit classier, but they get friend zoned.
Sigma Pi outside of involvement is nothing like these two. They have one of the bigger houses on campus.
Sig ep does throw parties but has the same people go to every party. Beta has a wide range of people that come and their parties are better overall.
I haven't been around Lambda Chi much to be able to help you there.

Thanks for agreeing with me but, I have to disagree with you on your last statement. I think LXA is dropping off since their little incident. I think ATO is the closest to top tier with their new pledge class. It will take more than this new pledge class though. The older brothers are a little weird and their house situation needs to change. They are the closest, but not there yet.

would put Sigma Pi in the running too, Not AS strong but still a fair candidate since they have the new party barn. They just need to learn to throw good parties.

This person is right. Those fraternities may be similar, but at the end of the day it all boils down to recruitment, quality of brothers, and the girls attracted. Those fraternities are considered top because they have success in those areas on a higher lever.
As for the LXA-Theta Chi comparison, I can fill that in. They are similar because both fraternities put emphasis on their social scene and recruit more a more southern type of brother. Theta Chi still throws at least twice as many parties and they're always much more popular. Their quality of brothers is better and they attract more top sorority girls. However, out of all of the not-top fraternities named, I would say that LXA is closest to being a top tier.
