i fit the southern preppy stereotype but I heard a lot of sororities only want Alabama girls can anyone tell me which ones so I don't waste time finding recs for them

You will never "waste time" finding a rec. every girl is different, as is every sorority. You don't knwo which ones you will like and which ones will like you.
I am from GA and got recs for all sororities - including the ones I had heard "only took Alabama girls". And I'm thankful I did, because no sorority during rush cut me. INCLUDING those "only in-state" groups. If you are a memorable girl, I promise you the last of their concern will be whether you hail from the heights of Birmingham.
