All sororities want sweet, smart, involved girls. However, each sorority does have a slightly different flavor that they look for; in that same vein, however, there are all types in all sororities, but the overall reputation and image remains the same. ADP/AGD for example, are considered very classic, preppy Southern ladies who look for very involved, driven, SGA types. XO/AXO are down-to-earth, a little more church-going, and take a strong look at grades and giving back. GPB/ZTA/DDD are very outgoing, bubbly, and peppy, and have a tendency to look for talkative, friendly girls who like to have fun. DG/AOP/KKG are very diverse, friendly girls, and look at involvement and have a tendency to get more of the girl-next-door type during recruitment. DZ/PBP: very laid-back sororities, end up with "guy's girls", smart, friendly, relaxed, and look for girls who are willing to have a good time. SK/AXD have a lot of fun, and look for girls who also want to have a lot of fun. Very sisterhood-oriented, and have strong philanthropy.
PM/KD are very Southern women, PM has a tendency to have a lot of blondes, but that is by no means a requirement to join. Look for outgoing girls from certain areas. KAT has a mix, but they end up with a strong sisterhood and very welcoming, accepting girls.

Bumping because this is so true. All sororities want sweet, smart, involved girls, but different sororities definitely compete for a certain type of girls. @agree, but is very accurate IMO.

Very, very true. I like the "guy's girl" comment. Also, it's AZD, not AXD.

It IS Alpha Xi Delta (AXD) and not AZD!!!...do you not know your Greek alphabet? Hopefully this is from someone who wrote that as a joke.

Except, all the sororities can fall into any of those groups.

Thanks for the positive feedback! It's great to see what unbiased posts look like since you get the feeling that the only ones who write positive things all the time about certain groups and in the same post says negative things about others are just trying to make you think bad thoughts about them.

A true ranking! All the sororities are really good. If you have to list who you think is the best (and I'm sure you have put your group at the top) then you must not be very good. Good luck to all the sororities this summer rush!

I think this is important since it is based on real facts and not made up rankings of one or two girls who stay on this site and troll the boards.

So much better than some! Truthful and not hurtful as one girl tries to do every time.

All are great groups and each offers a lot of fun and special times for a girl. This is a positive post, unlike those that try and rank sororities since that is simply a personal opinion and those who are doing the ranking only put who they like at the top and those they don't like or wish would not do well at the bottom. (We can tell who's doing that type of posting.)

Although the XO, AXO, KKG and the AOPs are in charge of just about everything, there are some others who are involved but perhaps not in charge like those others are. It takes more than being in charge of an organization, you need bodies to work and there are a lot who would rather volunteer than have to be at the top of the group each time.

This is almost perfect, but I also like this: I'd move PM into a party type group with ZTA, GPB, SK, and PP.
They are out each night from what I can tell. KD should go into the group with XO, AXO, KKG, and DZ. This group should also have athletic in it because they win a lot and are super involved in everything.
DG, AXD, DDD and KAT are really good and outgoing but all night partiers
AGD, ADP, AOP are usually not out as much as the others but are sweet.
DZ, AGD, ADP are all super smart and in a group all alone!

Iffff you want the classic Southern sorority experience, PM, KD, ADP, AGD
Iffff you want to go out and have a good time PBP, ZTA, GPB, DDD
Ifffff you want to focus on involvement and sisterhood, AXO, XO, AOP, KKG
Iffff you want a diverse mix, AXD, SK, DG, KAT

Perfect- but KD and PM are nothing alike. Agree, put them in the involved group also.

KD should be with the super involved group. All are very good however!
