Why is AXO in that group? The question was TOP sororities. There's nothing wrong with being a mid group as they are. As for the answer to the question, no matter what group you want, there are many girls that will have to be cut. That includes legacies, best friends and etc. No group can take everyone they want. It does not mean there is anything wrong with someone...there's just not enough room for everyone. Great girls get cut and join other good groups, it helps all the sororities out so there is a lot of good that occurs. It does help if your mom graduated from the school and was a bug supporter of the sorority of course!

Get recs; a big cut comes down to rec letters. If a girl reaaaaally likes you she might, maybe, be able to get one for you, but that's a lot to bank on when 1400+ girls are going through the recruitment process. Grades matter, ACT only matters if they didn't get a good feel for anyone's personality and aren't sure who to cut.

all sororities are looking for well rounded girls. Top grades, ACT scores, Leadership roles, and community service are super important. Some sororities look at the strength of the recommendation letter.(if the rec writer is involved in the chapter) and then again some sororities don't look at the rec at all. My advice is to make sure you have a well balanced resume and recs for every sorority because they are all great....not to sound trite. It is absolutely true.

I'm not in a "top" group, or one that is listed, but I don't understand why you don't consider AXO o he top. They're involved and hold leadership positions in almost everything I'm in, every girl I talk to has an internship lined up for the summer, and they have one of the highest retentions during recruitment.. I don't understand why you called them out. From an outside position, they're on par with XO and ADP, with smart, driven, classy girls..
