there's no real reason one is dropped from many houses. Numbers come into it and many times a group may drop if they think a girl has a bid as a legacy from another group and there is little chance she will change her mind. It makes room for others, unfortunately, many times that girl has been dropped from all the groups for those same reason since no one really has access to why someone has been cut. (Hope this makes some sense!) In other words, great girls get cut simply due to the fact that they are not as well known as another and not due to any flaws on the girls part. I think the amount of sophomores taken will fluctuate each year as there is no set amount to base a % on. Good luck to the girl! Hopefully she will stick it out and get a bid from the one group she has. I have known girls who have had one or two after the first initial cut and they kept their groups the rest of the time and received bids from both.

If she gets to pref with one house things are great.

I don't think there is an upperclassman quota.

Auburn doesn't have upperclassmen quotas, and many sororities choose not to take them. Many great girls slip through the cracks during the recruitment process and for that I'm truly sorry.
