fraternity rush

Most say: sigma nu, beta, Fiji, KA, SAE are top 5. Then after that there's all sorts of bias. KA from what I've heard live off their name and are declining. Beta apparently had money issues but as far as the brothers I like until ones I have met. Sigma nu is in a great location and have good parties. Don't know much about the brothers. Fiji is huge. SAE after nationals banning pledge ship is a tossup. We will see how the year goes.

How can you say KA is declining when they were the first fraternity to reach their quota? A fraternity that's declining doesn't have that much success with rush. They've clearly established themselves as a top 3 house

Because it's not about reaching quotas early. It's about getting quality pledges. KA focuses too hard on trying to beat everyone in numbers and thats why their brothers over the last few years have gotten worse. Fraternities like Fiji, Theta Chi, Beta, and Lambda Chi are getting better pledge classes than KA because they're bidding on the quality of each individual rushee and not trying to score a number. I hope this answers your question.

Honest Unbiased did a great review of the top 10 back in April. The order of the reviews written were FIJI, SN, SAE, Beta, Theta Chi, KA, Sigma Pi, Lambda Chi, Sig Ep and ATO. It was actually a very good unbiased well written review. Of those ten the ones having a strong summer rush are SN, KA, FIJI, Theta Chi and BETA. SAE is struggling but will pull it together. ATO and Sigma Pi are doing well. Not sure of Lambda Chi and Sig Ep. Let's face all are good but have pros and cons. Yes, someone will ask about Farmhouse. They are good guys. They are just different than others.

I agree with this post. From my own opinion, if Theta Chi's pledge class is as good as people have been hearing, then it's probably time to give them credit as the elite fraternity they've certainly become. Lambda Chi is in a similar boat. Though they're not as strong as Theta Chi yet, I can see LXA being in the elite fraternity group in a couple years. As a girl in a "top" sorority, I think we need to look beyond the names and judge by the quality. I mean stop making the "elite" group so exclusive and let others in that deserve to be there. Like I said though, that's just a girl's opinion and I'm sure the guys see differently.

As a girl that went to Theta Chi's formal, been to many of their date functions, and has many friends that have been there as well I believe they deserve to be recognized as a top tier fraternity. My honest opinion about them is
Pros: As a girl, whenever you go to their house you never have to worry about anyone not talking to you, their brothers are very welcoming! Thirsty Thursdays is always a good time and obviously they have the nicest house on campus which doesn't hurt. They're now keeping up with the top tier fraternity's In rush with numbers and quality
Cons: Their formal to Disney World is very boring and kind of awkward. Their brothers tend to be more of the "friend" type. A lot of my friends and other girls went their as a place to pregame the bars and such because they'd have a truck full of beers. They're nice, they're just not as good with girls as guys at other houses. Girls tend to go to their functions for the alcohol and somewhere to party with their friends, not for the brothers
They're def headed in the right direction and I'd recommend rushing there. Hope that helps!

I'm also a girl and I think your post is mostly accurate. However, the "friends" thing is not completely true. I'd say a little over a quarter of Theta Chis are very attractive and smooth. A couple of the hottest guys I've met at Auburn are actually Theta Chis. The problem is that most of their great looking guys have girlfriends. The rest of the brothers are more on the average side. Their brotherhood also seems stronger than most from what I've seen. I agree with the Orlando formal statement. However, New Orleans is WAY too overdone so both place have their downsides.

I agree they have the nicest house on campus, and while we are on that...I know you don't join just because of an awesome house but who does everyone think the top 5 houses are? Here's my opinion, but as everyone else is I'm biased
1. Theta Chi 2. KA 3. SNu 4. SAE 5. Tie between Beta/Sigma Pi If I had to choose I suppose I'd say Beta on that.

If we're talking about the actual house then yes, Theta Chi would be #1. I'm assuming that's not what you meant and you're trying to stir up trouble. In most opinions, Theta Chi is interchangeably #5/#6 with SAE on actual fraternity rankings.

I hope you're not serious about Betas house being top 5. Their setup outside is nice but the inside of their house is disgusting
