smaller fraternities
by: Smaller FraternitiesBigger fraternities aren't for everyone. I rushed some of the bigger ones and got bids from a couple that most people consider "top 5". That being said I just wanted something smaller. Remember pick the one that you like the best not the one that other people tell you is the best. Also remember at a lot of school 70 guys is a considered a huge chapter. My friends from some other school were astonished when I told them how many people were in my fraternity and that we were one of the smaller ones. There are definitely some trade offs. +generally tighter brotherhood +more opportunity for involvement in the fraternity early on +have a lot of say in the chapter +can help build a chapter -smaller parties -less choice in sororities (that being said if you get hot girls fraternity doesnt matter and if you cant get girls a fraternity wont help) -subpar housing -less name recognition -less money.

Those are some really inflated ranking for each group. If you are looking for a small fraternity I'd consider these groups. Most of the real small fraternities are small because they're in bad situations you don't want to be apart of.
Pi Kappa Alpha(Pike) was in the small fraternity leagues last year. They have a low number of brothers and a nice house. But their reputation is pretty bad mostly because their quality of brothers is bad. They had Wes loper for their spring party so I'd imagine they're poor right now FYI
Pi Kappa Phi is in the big fraternity but is vey close to small fraternity numbers. They came vey close to being in trouble with their nationals due to # of pledges that dropped them last fall. Their brothers favor Sig Ep a lot except they didnt go through a phase of shot gun bidding anyone who walked in their house for numbers. But they do have a wide variety of brothers from different states like Sig Ep. Also like Sig Ep they blow all their money on big name artists to have at their house because due to Auburns greek culture where girls won't hang out with you if you aren't top tier they're kinda forced to spend more money if they won't to throw big parties like the popular fraternities. At the same time it has a negative effect because both Sig Ep and Pi Kapp have two of the worst houses on campus for big fraternities.
So if you're looking for a smaller group of guys with good brother hood I'd look at Pi Kapp or one of the new groups who just started imo

Theyre fixing it up this summer and they actually have a pretty big house. Im laughing more at the ranking the DTD who wrote this gave his fraternity
