Continuous Open Bidding - Auburn
by: JaneKWhat’s do you think the chances are to get a Bid through COB ? Do many sororities do it ? Any idea which ones and when it would happen ?

I rushed at Auburn many years ago, and did not join during formal recruitment. I accepted a bid from a smaller sorority(at the time). I am so thankful that I did. This definitely was in God’s plan for my life. Being that it was a little smaller, and me not much of an extrovert, I was given many opportunities to lead. Hope this helps!

Every sorority does COB from time to time. It is different each semester and entirely depends on two things:
- The number of open spots. This is determined by Chapter Total, which is the membership limit of the sororities set by panhellenic. It is reset each semester, in fall after recruitment, and at the start of spring semester to account for December grads and any drops or early alums.
- Who you know in a chapter. Chapters usually focus their COB efforts on girls they already know.
Meet members, make connections, keep your grades up and your nose clean.

If you are asking about COB because you chose not to take part in formal recruitment for whatever reason but you are still interested in Greek life, there may be some opportunities for you.
If you dropped from recruitment because you didn’t get any “good” houses and you want another go at the houses you covet - it unfortunately probably will not work out the way you want it to.
Best of luck!

Learn from your mistakes, get off of TikTok, don’t take sigma like you asked on here if you should because you “really wanted to experience bid day.” And so you could post about it. Just be real for once and not trying to have or be what everybody else is. Auburn sororities are not like Bama. So de-Orange yourself and go with your real hair and just try to be who you really are. Not what your mom has tried to create.

Not every sorority COB’s. You can look at the Panhellenic reports to see the sororities that usually do and those that never do.
