Phi Mu convention

by:

Phi Mu is having its National Convention this week in Disney World. It was an important convention because the National Officers put on the agenda to vote on changing our Ritual. The mention of God is no longer allowed. No Prayer. Any one identifying as a woman can be initiated. No scripture readings. And the Password will have to be changed since it came from the Bible.
The vote succeeded. Overwhelmingly.
They Do Not want God.

It doesn't mean they are rejecting God; they are just trying to be more open to everyone who do not necessary follow Christianity. By taking out specific religious parts, they are acknowledging the diversity among their members and making sure everyone feels included, no matter their beliefs. I’m a Catholic but would never push my religion onto anyone, and you should not condemn those who do not follow God. Shame on you

For real? I'm crossing Phi Mu off my list. I want a more traditional group, like KD or AGD.

Well the sororities are the ones who do the crossing off not pnm's. But you're not a pnm you're obviously just an old lady.

Maybe KD and AGD won't want me but I don't want Phi Mu.

Then there are a bunch of others you 'don't want' either. Most of the sororities have removed the few biblical and Christian references they had in ritual. You have no idea which ones or what they removed. But you're actually not a pnm, just a troll picking on Phi Mu for some reason.

Alpha Chi also has the sloppiest freshmen that slept around campus last year. their "strong Christian" membership is a front for a bunch of sheltered high school girls who went wild freshmen year.

This is not denying God in any way. This is just about the fact that people don't like their traditions messed with even if it makes sense. Sororities are not religions, rituals are not worship services, chapters are not churches. Surely you can live as a Christian and worship as you choose while also maintaining allegiance to your sorority and embracing its values. Remember Mark 12:17. Or if you don't like it you can always turn in your pin.

Most of the NPC sororities are changing their rituals in this way. Sorority founders wrote the rituals from their own experiences and cultural backgrounds as Protestant Christian women in the mid-late 19th and early 20th centuries. This was the limit of their world at the time. A woman can be a good person and do a lot of good in the world even without being religious. God loves and wants the best for all His children whether they believe in Him or not.

So a Phi Mu's first thought about her ritual is to come on greekrank to slam her own sorority? No. Someone is trying a new way to come after a top sorority to make them look bad. Yes. It's too obvious.

Phi Mu started out as a Christian group and now they're turning their backs on God? I don't even think I want to stay active anymore.

By: I don't like it.

I just now read this. I hope that no more groups do this. I'm not a Phi Mu but this makes all of us look bad.
