Anybody else disappointed
by: Sandy (not my real name)
So, I didn’t land where I wanted. I’m pi phi and will try and make the best of it but thought I’d be much higher tier, not mid-bottom.
Anybody else go through rush and a little disappointed? I think i need some words of encouragment or something right about now.

My tough love advice is if you’re more focused on the rank of the sisterhood that chose you, rather than the quality of the girls or the experience you can get, then you never should have gone through the process. You get out what you give in - if you put time and effort into these girls, then you’ll get a lot out by the time you graduate. But evaluating an entire group of girls on rank alone is shallow and an unfortunate byproduct of bama rushtok. When no one is filming these girls will still be your sisters, and they are the ones who extended a bid to you. No one else.

While you think you should’ve been in a “higher tier,” those higher tier groups didn’t think so. They didn’t ask you back. You( and all the other PNMs) are lucky that you got a bid, period. The sororities have much more experience evaluating who will be a good fit for their chapter and are good at doing that. Pi Phi offered you a bid because they like you and felt you have something to contribute to the chapter. Furthermore, they’re a good chapter, certainly not lower tier as you said. So you have two choices: either be grateful for your Pi Phi bid and work hard to fit in, make friends within the chapter , or drop out, so that Pi Phi can fill your spot with someone who would be grateful for your bid.

A lot of folks are hurting or confused with their bids. Show a little patience and love.
